Brown's responsibilities will be shared among assistant general managers Charles Cook, Gavin Dickey, and Connor Huff, along with senior advisor Jeff Bagwell. Crane expressed gratitude for Brown's contributions over the past four seasons, which included two division titles and significant efforts in scouting and development.

Brown, who took on the GM role at the start of the 2023 season, led the Astros to an AL West title but faced challenges as the team missed the playoffs last season. Currently, the Astros are tied for first in the AL West, holding a record of 65-66. The team is looking for a new executive as they aim for playoff contention.
