Dana White Comments on Sean Strickland's Pay Dispute
The UFC has clarified its position regarding Sean Strickland, the middleweight champion, amid an ongoing pay dispute. Strickland, who won the title after defeating Khamzat Chimaev in May, is not expected to defend his title again until 2026 due to disagreements over his contractual terms.
Strickland had been slated to fight Nassourdine Imavov before the end of the year, but he has refused to compete under his current contract, which he agreed to just five months ago. Dana White responded to Strickland's public complaints, noting that the champion recently signed a new deal and disputed the figures Strickland has mentioned regarding his pay.
White remarked on Strickland's tendency to express dissatisfaction and indicated that a resolution to the dispute is not imminent. With Strickland unwilling to fight unless compensated to his satisfaction, there are expectations that the UFC may strip him of his title.
