Dana White Criticizes NSAC Fines for Fighters Celebrating

Dana White has voiced his disagreement with the Nevada State Athletic Commission's decision to fine fighters Max Holloway, Paddy Pimblett, and Gable Steveson for celebrating by jumping out of the Octagon after their victories at UFC 329 in July.

Each fighter was fined $2,500 following a disciplinary hearing, which they all paid promptly. White emphasized that there is a distinction between celebrating a win and causing chaos, arguing that emotional celebrations should not lead to penalties. He noted that while fighters should be punished for violent actions, innocent celebrations should be viewed differently.

The NSAC chairman defended the commission's stance, citing past incidents like Khabib Nurmagomedov's infamous cage jump at UFC 229, which led to significant fines and suspensions. Despite acknowledging the celebratory nature of the recent incidents, he reiterated the need for strict enforcement of the rules to maintain safety.
