Dana White Discusses UFC Women's Weight Classes and AI Integration
Following UFC Fight Night at the Meta APEX, Dana White held a press briefing where he addressed various topics, including the possibility of introducing a new weight class for women fighters.
White stated that the UFC does not intend to create an additional weight class, such as Atomweight, as it could disrupt the existing divisions. He emphasized that if there was a genuine need for it, the organization would have already implemented such a change. A reporter noted that many women might consider moving down to Atomweight due to the current 115-pound limit, to which White agreed.
In addition to weight classes, White discussed the incorporation of AI technology at the Meta APEX, revealing that plans for this integration have been in development for some time. He mentioned the introduction of AI rankings on the UFC's official site, which are branded as META UFC Rankings, reflecting the collaboration with Meta.
