Dana White Prevents Post-Fight Face-Off After UFC 330
Following UFC 330, Dana White intervened to stop Carlos Prates from entering the cage after Islam Makhachev's victory over Ian Machado Garry. Makhachev successfully defended his welterweight title for the first time, achieving a unanimous decision win and breaking Anderson Silva's long-standing record for the most consecutive wins in UFC history.
Prates, who was present in Philadelphia, aimed to establish himself as the next contender by attempting to face off with Makhachev immediately after the fight. However, White expressed concerns about potential tensions, particularly involving the 'Muslim brotherhood', and advised against the face-off to allow Makhachev to enjoy his moment.
Despite the halted face-off, Makhachev indicated a preference for fighting Prates next, prioritizing him over Michael Morales. Makhachev has expressed a desire to return to the octagon either before the end of the year or at the beginning of 2027.
