Dane Rampe Named Stand-in Captain for Sydney Swans' Finals Campaign
Dane Rampe has been designated as the interim captain for the Sydney Swans for the remainder of their finals campaign following an ACL injury to club captain Callum Mills.
The Swans are also without vice-captain Isaac Heeney, who is currently suspended due to events from August 17th. This situation led to discussions about who would lead the team into their upcoming preliminary final against Fremantle.
Rampe, a seasoned player with 288 games under his belt, was officially announced as captain by the Swans. Coach Dean Cox expressed confidence in Rampe's leadership abilities, noting his toughness and experience. Rampe previously served as co-captain from 2019 to 2023 and has the opportunity to lead the team after facing disappointment in past grand finals.
