Daniel Berger Withdraws from FedExCup Playoffs Due to Injury
Daniel Berger has announced that he will not compete in the FedEx Cup playoffs, despite having qualified for the second consecutive year.
His decision to withdraw from the playoff opener, the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, is attributed to an injury, as confirmed by the PGA Tour. Berger, who is 33 years old, has faced significant challenges on tour due to a serious back injury that sidelined him for nearly two years. Although he returned in 2024 and qualified for the playoffs in 2025, he withdrew after three rounds of the BMW Championship.
This season, Berger finished 60th in the points standings and had previously withdrawn from the Wyndham Championship, the final event of the regular season. With his absence from the playoffs, he will not be replaced in the field, leaving 69 competitors to vie for advancement to the next stage, the BMW Championship.
