Daniel Cormier Criticizes Nevada Cage Rule Following UFC 329

UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier has expressed his disapproval of a Nevada rule that penalizes fighters for celebrating victories by leaving the cage. This comes after Max Holloway, Paddy Pimblett, and Gable Steveson, who all won at UFC 329, face hearings with the Nevada State Athletic Commission regarding their post-fight actions.

The commission will assess whether to withhold part of the fighters' purses due to alleged violations of rules against exiting the cage. Holloway and Pimblett celebrated outside the cage after their respective victories, while Steveson made a strong debut with a knockout.

Cormier, now a UFC analyst, criticized the rule as ineffective for the sport, recalling his own emotional victory in 2018. Pimblett's manager also described the regulation as outdated, calling for its reevaluation. The commission has yet to announce any penalties for the fighters involved.
