Daniel Tupou Retires After Fourth NRL Grand Final Victory
Daniel Tupou has officially retired from the NRL shortly after securing his fourth grand final title with the Sydney Roosters.
The winger, who has been a key player for the Roosters, won premierships in 2013, 2018, 2019, and 2026, and has played 10 State of Origin matches for New South Wales. His retirement follows a grand final victory against Newcastle, marking the end of a 15-year career during which he scored 198 tries across 307 games.
Roosters coach Trent Robinson praised Tupou as one of the club's all-time greats, highlighting his consistency and impact on the team. Tupou's departure coincides with a significant off-season transition for the Roosters, as several other players are also leaving the club. He retires as the greatest try-scorer in Roosters history, having surpassed Anthony Minichiello's record in 2023.
