Danny Lamb Retires from Cricket at 30 Due to Injury

Danny Lamb, a 30-year-old all-rounder for Sussex, has retired from professional cricket due to a neck and spinal cord injury. This decision comes after he suffered a disc herniation earlier in the season, which necessitated surgery last month.

Despite undergoing surgery, Lamb continued to experience complications from the injury. Following medical advice, he chose to retire to prioritize his long-term health. Throughout his career, he played 93 matches for Lancashire before joining Sussex in 2023, achieving a highest first-class score of 134.

His last match was in June against Kent in the Vitality Blast. Sussex's head coach expressed gratitude for Lamb's contributions to the team, noting his role in the club's promotion to Division One in the County Championship.
