Darius Boyd Appointed Queensland's New State of Origin Coach

Darius Boyd has been appointed as the new coach of Queensland's State of Origin team, taking over from Billy Slater, who recently stepped down from the position.

Boyd, a former player with 28 appearances for the Maroons, has signed a two-year contract. Since retiring in 2020, he has led Queensland's under-19 team to consecutive series victories against New South Wales.

Boyd expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, acknowledging the legacy of past Queensland players and coaches. Queensland Rugby League chair Brian Canavan highlighted Boyd's deep understanding of the team's culture and his commitment to developing young talent.
