Darkness Falls Triumphs Over Desert Castle in Dewhurst Stakes

Darkness Falls secured a narrow victory against Desert Castle in the Dewhurst Stakes held at Newmarket, marking a significant win for the horse.

In a competitive race featuring five runners, Darkness Falls, ridden by Ryan Moore, managed to outpace the favorite, Desert Castle, who was previously unbeaten and had William Buick as his jockey.

Trained by Aidan O'Brien, Darkness Falls had recently transitioned from a mile-and-one distance to seven furlongs after winning the Golden Fleece Stakes at Leopardstown. O'Brien expressed confidence in the horse's potential, noting its class and the successful strategy of shortening the distance for this race.
