Darnold's Turnovers Lead to Seahawks' Overtime Loss Against Broncos
In a closely contested game, the Seattle Seahawks fell to the Denver Broncos 17-14 in overtime, with Sam Darnold's second-half interceptions playing a crucial role in the defeat.
After trailing 14-3 in the fourth quarter, Darnold orchestrated an 11-play drive that narrowed the score to 14-11. However, he threw an interception with just 91 seconds remaining, missing a chance to tie the game. He later redeemed himself by leading a drive that resulted in a field goal, sending the game into overtime.
In overtime, Darnold was intercepted again, this time by Ja’Quan McMillian, which set up Will Lutz for a game-winning 53-yard field goal. The loss dropped the Seahawks to a 3-3 record, while the Broncos improved to 4-2. Darnold has now thrown seven interceptions this season, reflecting on his performance with frustration and acknowledging the need for improvement.
