Daron Payne of the Commanders Suffers Significant Foot Injury

Daron Payne, a defensive tackle for the Washington Commanders, suffered a significant foot injury during practice on Friday, according to reports from Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.

This injury is expected to keep Payne out for an extended period, with indications that he may be placed on injured reserve and could potentially miss the entire season.

Payne, who is 29 years old, was the 13th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and has played six games this season, recording 14 tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble. He is in the final year of his contract and will become a free agent next year.
