Darren Elkins to Retire After UFC Vegas 120 Fight

Darren Elkins has announced that he will retire from mixed martial arts following his fight at UFC Vegas 120 this Saturday. The 42-year-old featherweight will face Yadier del Valle at Meta Apex in Las Vegas, which will be his 30th appearance in the Octagon.

Elkins cited age and increasing injuries as key factors in his decision to retire. He expressed that training has become more taxing on his body over the years. After nearly 15 years with the UFC, he stated that the choice to retire was not difficult, as he had exceeded his own expectations by fighting at this age.

He has ruled out pursuing bare-knuckle boxing after his retirement, stating it does not align with his fighting style. Elkins anticipates that his final fight will reflect the intense nature of his career, which has earned him a reputation for engaging in brutal bouts.
