Darren Thomas Ends His Tenure at Caernarfon Town
Darren Thomas, a prominent figure at Caernarfon Town, has declared his departure from the club after 15 years of service. Known affectionately as the 'Cofi Messi', Thomas made 435 appearances and scored 148 goals, playing a crucial role in the club's rise from the third tier to the Cymru Premier.
Initially joining Caernarfon in 2005, Thomas helped the team achieve back-to-back promotions and contributed to their first-ever Welsh Cup victory earlier this year. His leadership and performance on the pitch have been pivotal in transforming the club's fortunes, according to chairman Paul Evans.
Despite signing a new contract last summer, Thomas has chosen to leave to seek more playing time. Both Evans and manager Richard Davies expressed their understanding of his decision, acknowledging the significant impact he has had on the club's history.
