Darren Waller Signs One-Year Contract with Carolina Panthers

Darren Waller, a tight end who returned to the NFL with the Miami Dolphins last season, has signed a one-year contract with the Carolina Panthers, as reported by ESPN on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old player was a key contributor for Miami, recording six touchdown receptions in nine games and totaling 24 catches for 283 yards. His move to the Panthers reunites him with assistant coach Darrell Bevell, who was the passing game coordinator in Miami last year.

Waller has faced injury challenges in recent seasons, including a year off in 2024. Previously, he was a standout player for the Las Vegas Raiders, achieving back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2020. Over his career, Waller has played in 95 NFL games, accumulating 374 receptions for 4,407 yards and 26 touchdowns.
