Darren Waller Signs One-Year Deal with Panthers

Darren Waller, a veteran tight end, has signed a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers after previously playing for the Miami Dolphins.

Waller, who is 33 years old, was a sixth-round draft pick by the Ravens in 2015 and became a Pro Bowler with the Raiders in 2020. He was traded to the Giants in 2023 but retired after one season before joining the Dolphins last year, where he recorded 24 receptions for 283 yards and six touchdowns in nine games.

The Panthers currently have five tight ends on their roster, including Tommy Tremble and Ja’Tavion Sanders. Notably, Panthers associate head coach Darrell Bevell worked with Waller during his time in Miami.
