Dave Batista Cast as Kratos in Amazon's 'God of War' Series

Dave Batista has been confirmed for a significant role in Amazon's new television adaptation of God of War, where he will portray Kratos.

This announcement follows earlier rumors and comes after Ryan Hurst, who was initially cast for the role, sustained a torn bicep during filming. The series is currently being shot in Vancouver, Canada, and has been ordered for two seasons, which are being filmed consecutively.

The storyline will follow the narrative of the latest God of War games, focusing on Kratos as he raises his son Atreus while confronting Norse gods. Their journey involves spreading the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye, with Kratos aiming to teach Atreus about godhood and Atreus seeking to guide Kratos towards humanity.
