Dave Bautista Cast as Kratos in Amazon's God of War Series

Dave Bautista has been confirmed as the new lead for the role of Kratos in Amazon's adaptation of God of War, following Ryan Hurst's injury. The series is anticipated to premiere late next year.

Production was halted after Hurst tore his bicep during a stunt, with four episodes already filmed. Bautista's casting allows production to resume in October, although the footage from the initial episodes will not be used.

Bautista, known for his physically demanding roles, has a month to prepare for the character. His previous experience includes playing Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy films and a recent role in The Highlander. Filming for God of War began in February in Vancouver, with plans to shoot the first two seasons consecutively.
