Dave Bautista Cast as Kratos in Prime Video's God of War Series

Dave Bautista has been confirmed as the new actor for Kratos in Prime Video's adaptation of God of War, following Ryan Hurst's departure due to a serious injury sustained on set.

Hurst, who had been cast in the role, suffered a torn bicep while performing a stunt in late June, prompting the recasting. Bautista's involvement comes after discussions between Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television regarding the role.

Production is set to resume in Vancouver around mid-October, with Bautista taking over despite Hurst having filmed significant material that will not be used. The main cast remains unchanged, featuring Callum Vinson as Atreus and other notable actors in key roles. The series will explore the relationship between Kratos and his son as they embark on a journey to fulfill a personal mission.
