Dave Roberts Expresses Concern Over Dodgers' Recent Performance
The Los Angeles Dodgers arrived in Denver on Monday night aiming to regain their form as two-time defending World Champions. Manager Dave Roberts expressed a desire for the team to improve after a lackluster performance over the past two months, where they recorded an 18-21 record in July and August.
Entering the series against the Colorado Rockies, the Dodgers had recently lost three out of four games to the Milwaukee Brewers, which put them three games behind Milwaukee for the best record in the National League. This slump has also allowed the Atlanta Braves to surpass them for the second-best record, potentially forcing Los Angeles into the wild-card round if the season ended at that moment.
Roberts dismissed the idea that the team was waiting to ramp up their performance as the postseason approaches, stating he would be disappointed if that were the case. He acknowledged the team's offensive struggles, noting a .716 OPS over the last month, ranking them 15th among MLB teams. Roberts emphasized the need for the entire lineup to return to their expected performance levels.
