David Bell Sues Doctors for Alleged Medical Malpractice Ending NFL Career
David Bell, a former wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns, has initiated legal action against multiple healthcare professionals, alleging that medical malpractice resulted in the premature end of his NFL career and nearly cost him his life.
Bell is pursuing over $300 million in damages, claiming that he underwent an unnecessary core muscle repair surgery which caused a severe injury to his femoral artery. This injury ultimately forced him to retire from professional football.
At just 24 years old, Bell was placed on the reserve/retired list last year after being drafted in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He had a notable college career at Purdue, where he earned several accolades, including first-team All-American honors in 2021.
