David Coulthard Predicts Aston Martin's F1 Improvement in Two Years

David Coulthard, a former Formula 1 driver, has expressed confidence that Aston Martin will emerge as the most improved team in the championship over the next two years. He believes the Silverstone-based team will secure victories despite a challenging start to the 2026 season.

During a mid-season review on the Up To Speed podcast, Coulthard defended Aston Martin's long-term strategy, highlighting the team's high expectations with significant resources, including a new Honda power unit and a state-of-the-art wind tunnel. Currently, Aston Martin is in 10th place in the constructors' championship, having scored only one point from Fernando Alonso at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Despite the team's struggles, Coulthard remains optimistic about their future, predicting a turnaround. Aston Martin recently introduced an upgrade package at the Hungarian Grand Prix, which, although did not yield points, showed improved performance with Lance Stroll finishing 13th and Alonso 14th. Stroll noted the upgrades as a significant step forward, emphasizing the need for more power and performance enhancements.
