David Malukas Misses IndyCar Win Due to Chevrolet Engine Issue
David Malukas experienced disappointment at The Milwaukee Mile, where he finished second in the Snap-On Makers and Fixers 250, missing out on his first IndyCar victory.
Starting third, Malukas led for 93 laps after an off-strategy pit call placed him in the lead. However, a hesitation from his Chevrolet engine during a late restart allowed Pato O’Ward of Arrow McLaren to overtake him, resulting in a finish 1.7535 seconds behind the winner.
This race marked Malukas's fourth second-place finish of the season and his sixth overall, tying him with several drivers for the second-most runner-up finishes without a win. Despite the setback, Chevrolet-powered cars dominated the top positions in both races at the event.
