David Moyes Reflects on Disappointments After Everton's Deadline Day

Everton manager David Moyes has acknowledged his disappointment regarding the club's transfer activities on deadline day, particularly after a deal for striker Folarin Balogun fell through.

The 25-year-old player, who was targeted after Beto's transfer to Fiorentina, decided against joining Everton following a medical examination at the club's Finch Farm training facility. Despite efforts to secure other players, including Joshua Zirkzee and Tammy Abraham, the club was unable to finalize any additional signings.

While Everton did manage to sign Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City, they lost key player Iliman Ndiaye to City for £65 million. Moyes noted that the sale of Ndiaye was intended to fund new acquisitions. The club also faced challenges in securing defender Kenny Tete from Fulham, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles joined from Lyon for £3 million. Moyes reflected on the difficulties of the transfer market, stating that sometimes circumstances do not align as hoped.
