David Silva Joins Hong Kong Club Sha Tin at Age 40
David Silva, the former midfielder for Manchester City, has come out of retirement at 40 to sign with Hong Kong Premier League team Sha Tin.
Silva, who previously won the 2010 World Cup and two European Championships with Spain, had a successful decade at Manchester City, where he scored 60 Premier League goals and secured four league titles. He retired in 2023 due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained during pre-season training with Real Sociedad.
Sha Tin currently sits eighth in the league standings after four matches and is scheduled to face Hong Kong Football Club on October 18. The club announced that Silva will soon arrive in Hong Kong to integrate with the team and work on his fitness ahead of his debut.
