David Silva Returns from Retirement to Join Hong Kong's Sha Tin
David Silva, a former midfielder for Manchester City, has announced his return from retirement to join Hong Kong Premier League club Sha Tin at the age of 40.
Silva, who left the Premier League in 2020, had a successful career at Manchester City, winning four Premier League titles and representing Spain in the 2010 World Cup and two European Championships. He retired in 2023 due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained during pre-season training with Real Sociedad.
Silva expressed enthusiasm for experiencing the local culture and football in Hong Kong. Sha Tin, currently eighth in the league, is set to face Hong Kong Football Club on October 18. The club confirmed that Silva will soon arrive in Hong Kong to join training and work towards match fitness before his debut.
