De Zerbi Sets Goal Target for Savio After Impressive Spurs Debut
New Tottenham signing Savio made an immediate impact in his debut, scoring during the team's 5-1 victory over Charlton Athletic in the EFL Cup. After joining from Manchester City for an initial fee of £75 million, Savio came off the bench in the second half and netted his first goal from the edge of the area.
Despite initially appearing to score a second goal, the strike was later credited to teammate Ben Davies due to a deflection. Savio's goal-scoring record at Manchester City was modest, with only seven goals in two seasons, but he did achieve 11 goals while on loan at Girona last season.
Roberto De Zerbi expressed optimism about Savio's potential, setting a target of 10 to 12 goals for him this season, emphasizing the need for wingers to contribute significantly to the team's scoring. Savio may make his Premier League debut against Newcastle United on Saturday.
