Dead Body Discovered on Malibu Beach Amid Hurricane Marie's Impact
This week, the Southern California coast faced severe conditions due to Hurricane Marie, which, despite not making landfall, generated powerful swells that impacted the region. Amid the chaos, Malibu officials discovered a dead body on the beach.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department located the corpse around 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, north of Malibu Lagoon. Firefighters retrieved the man from the water, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. Details regarding the man's identity and the cause of death remain unknown.
In addition to the body discovery, Malibu declared a state of emergency after a sinkhole damaged a driveway at a beachfront property owned by Nicolas Cage. Further south in Orange County, homes were evacuated, and some were marked unsafe for re-entry due to the storm's effects.
