Decision on Monaco Appeal Expected in Weeks

The International Court of Appeal has heard appeals from McLaren and Red Bull concerning the results of the Monaco Grand Prix, but a decision is not expected for several weeks.

The appeals focus on the reinstatement of Pierre Gasly's third-place finish, which affected the standings of Isack Hadjar and Oscar Piastri. Gasly had received two 5-second penalties for speeding in the pit lane, but these were later rescinded after new evidence regarding timing loops was presented.

McLaren and Red Bull's appeals were heard on August 25, while Mercedes had previously withdrawn a separate appeal regarding George Russell's penalty. The court will evaluate the appropriateness of rescinding Gasly's penalties and the implications for drivers who had already served theirs. A decision is anticipated within two to three weeks.
