Deion Jones Traded to 49ers After Brief Stint with Saints
Deion Jones has been traded from the New Orleans Saints to the San Francisco 49ers after only two weeks with the team. The trade, reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, involves the Saints acquiring running back Zamir White in exchange.
Jones, a former LSU team captain and Pro Bowler, was claimed off waivers on August 8 and participated in two preseason games, playing a total of 49 snaps. The Saints' decision to trade for a running back comes amid injuries to their current roster, including Alvin Kamara, who is sidelined for a month.
Zamir White, a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, previously played for the Las Vegas Raiders before being signed by the 49ers. He has also participated in preseason games this month. The Saints' need for a healthy running back group prompted this trade, as they look to solidify their roster ahead of the season.
