Deion Sanders Clarifies $50,000 Offer to Critics Was a Joke
Deion Sanders, the head coach of Colorado, recently responded to comments made by Christopher 'Uncle' Neely regarding an alleged offer to pay critics $50,000 to refrain from mentioning his name. During a press conference, Sanders clarified that his statement was meant as a joke.
Sanders explained that he had suggested the idea hypothetically, expressing a desire to see how far such a proposition could go. He emphasized that it was not a genuine offer. Neely, however, had presented the idea as if it were a real proposal, stating that critics could earn money by not discussing Sanders.
In a separate Twitter post, Sanders dismissed the claims as false, asserting that he does not concern himself with public criticism. He also referenced a past incident where he refused to answer a question from a CBS reporter due to previous grievances with the network, indicating that he does have moments of sensitivity to criticism.
