Deion Sanders Subpoenaed for Bankruptcy Trial Testimony
Deion Sanders, the head coach of Colorado, is under subpoena to provide testimony at the upcoming bankruptcy trial of Shilo. A sheriff's deputy attempted to serve Sanders with court papers during an open practice last week.
According to Boulder County sheriff’s department spokesperson Carrie Haverfield, the deputy could not complete the service at that time. It remains uncertain if the subpoena was specifically for Shilo's trial, which is set to begin on August 31. However, it was later confirmed that Sanders's legal counsel accepted the paperwork on his behalf, although they were not located in Boulder County.
The trial will address an $11.89 million default judgment related to an alleged assault and whether the debt is considered to arise from willful and malicious injury. There are questions regarding whether Sanders will testify in person or if arrangements will be made for his testimony to be recorded separately.
