Deion Sanders Subpoenaed for Son's Bankruptcy Trial
Deion Sanders faces a potential conflict as he has been subpoenaed to testify at his son Shilo's bankruptcy trial, which is set to begin on August 31. This trial coincides with Colorado's first game of the season against Georgia Tech the following Saturday.
The case revolves around a debt from a lawsuit filed by John Darjean, a former security guard, who claimed Shilo caused him injuries during an incident in 2015. Darjean was awarded a default judgment of $11.89 million after Shilo failed to appear in court.
Judge Michael E. Romero acknowledged the scheduling conflict during a pre-trial conference, noting the significance of the game week. Deion may seek to quash the subpoena, but if he cannot, he might need to pause his coaching duties to attend the trial in Denver.
