Demi Vollering Takes Stage Eight Victory and Yellow Jersey at Tour de France Femmes

Demi Vollering achieved her fourth stage victory at the Tour de France Femmes by winning stage eight, which allowed her to take the leader's yellow jersey with only one stage remaining.

The lead in the race shifted for the second consecutive day, as Katarzyna Niewiadoma-Phinney had previously taken the top spot after winning on Mont Ventoux. Heading into the penultimate stage, Niewiadoma-Phinney held a 15-second advantage over Vollering.

During the stage, which was the longest of the race at 171.9km, Vollering made a decisive move on the final climb, distancing herself from Niewiadoma-Phinney and Elisa Longo Borghini. She finished the stage 17 seconds ahead of them, establishing an eight-second lead in the overall standings. Defending champion Pauline Ferrand-Prevot withdrew from the race due to illness.
