Denny Hamlin Focuses on Winning to Catch Kyle Larson in Championship Chase

Denny Hamlin is determined to close the gap on Kyle Larson in the Chase for the Championship, focusing on winning races one at a time. After five races, Larson holds a significant lead with an average finish of 2.2, while Hamlin acknowledges he lost points at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Hamlin believes that to reclaim the championship, he must concentrate on winning the upcoming race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He noted that his team needs to perform better to surpass Larson's strong performance. Despite setbacks in previous races, Hamlin is committed to controlling his own outcomes and aims to win consecutively to secure the title.

Reflecting on his past successes, Hamlin recalled overcoming a 100-point deficit earlier in the season by winning races. He remains optimistic that winning in the playoffs will allow him to catch up to Larson.
