
Denny Hamlin Maintains Points Lead After Chaotic NASCAR Race at WWT Raceway
The NASCAR Cup Series continued with a thrilling race at WWT Raceway, where Denny Hamlin managed to keep his points lead despite intense competition.
Hamlin, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, is now only nine points ahead after a race marked by a record 18 cautions. Kyle Larson achieved his first victory in 51 races, moving up five positions and closing in on Hamlin's lead. Christopher Bell, the Southern 500 winner, is in third place, trailing Hamlin by 18 points.
Chase Briscoe and Daniel Suarez experienced significant drops in the standings, falling from fifth to eighth and from 13th to 16th, respectively. Meanwhile, Shane van Gisbergen remains in 17th place, although both Brad Keselowski and Ross Chastain improved their standings with strong performances. The series will next compete at Bristol Motor Speedway for a 500-lap race.
