Derek Hill Exits Game Early Due to Neck Stiffness
PHILADELPHIA — During a game against the Cardinals on Saturday night at Citizens Bank Park, Phillies outfielder Derek Hill was taken out due to neck stiffness, as confirmed by the team. This incident followed another injury, as second baseman Luis Arraez had previously left the game with lower-body cramps.
Hill, who was playing center field, had a productive outing, going 1-for-2 with an RBI double before being replaced by rookie Justin Crawford in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Phillies indicated that Hill will undergo further evaluation.
Since joining the Phillies in June from the White Sox, Hill has performed well as a short-side platoon outfielder, boasting a batting average of .267, five home runs, and a .767 OPS.
