Domestically, they have advanced in the League Cup and are set to face Celtic in the quarter-finals next month. However, the team has only managed one point from their first two Scottish Premiership matches and will visit Aberdeen on Sunday.

McInnes has already brought in twelve new players and is looking to add a few more before the transfer window closes. He noted the absence of injured striker Youssef Chermiti as a significant loss.
