Detroit Lions Release Cornerback Terrion Arnold Following Arrest

The Detroit Lions have cut cornerback Terrion Arnold after learning of his arrest in June on charges of kidnapping and armed robbery.

Arnold, who was selected as the 24th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, is facing eight felony charges related to an incident from February. He had previously played 24 regular-season games for the Lions before undergoing shoulder surgery in December.

Following his release, Arnold signed with the Seattle Seahawks, who placed him on the commissioner’s exempt list, allowing him to attend team meetings while he cannot practice or play. Lions general manager Brad Holmes stated that the decision to cut Arnold was in the best interest of the team, emphasizing a focus on the current roster.
