DeWanna Bonner Joins Atlanta Dream for Playoff Push

DeWanna Bonner has signed with the Atlanta Dream for the remainder of the 2026 season and playoffs, as reported by multiple sources. The 17-year veteran is pursuing another championship in what may be her last year in the WNBA.

Bonner began the season with the Phoenix Mercury, where she spent most of her career. After the Mercury were eliminated from playoff contention on August 22, she agreed to a buyout with the team. The Mercury's General Manager expressed a desire to allow Bonner to conclude her career positively, facilitating her move to the Dream.

The Dream, currently fourth in the league standings with a record of 25-13, have secured a playoff spot. Bonner, a two-time WNBA champion, is expected to provide valuable experience during the postseason. She has averaged 10.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game this season. The addition of Bonner is particularly important as the Dream face depth issues due to injuries, including that of four-time All-Star Brionna Jones. Bonner's next game with the Dream is scheduled for August 28 against the Portland Fire.
