Dez Bryant Cited for Assault After Parking Lot Altercation
Dez Bryant, a former NFL star, was cited for assault following a confrontation in a Southlake, Texas parking lot on Sunday. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. when Bryant accused 19-year-old Noah Reyes and his friend of street racing near his vehicle.
Video footage shows Bryant slapping Reyes' phone out of his hand after the teen attempted to film him. Despite pleas from Reyes' friend not to damage the phone, Bryant threw it to the ground. The altercation escalated with Bryant making aggressive remarks towards Reyes, including threats and insults.
Police arrived at the scene after multiple reports of the incident, with officers drawing their firearms as a precaution. No weapons were found, and Bryant was issued a citation for Assault by Contact, a Class C misdemeanor. Reyes reported a hand injury and plans to sue Bryant, who claims he acted in self-defense. Bryant is scheduled to appear in court on November 20.
