Dhruv Jurel's Unbeaten 99 Helps India A Recover Against New Zealand A
Dhruv Jurel played a pivotal role in India's innings, scoring an unbeaten 99 to help India A recover from a precarious position on the opening day of the second unofficial Test against New Zealand A in Christchurch.
India A faced significant challenges after losing three wickets for just six runs, leaving them at 160 for 6. Jurel formed a crucial partnership of 62 runs for the seventh wicket with Manav Suthar, who contributed 22 runs. Following Suthar's dismissal, Jurel continued to anchor the innings, adding an unbeaten 69 runs with Akash Deep, who remained at the crease alongside him.
The Indian team had a shaky start, with Yashasvi Jaiswal dismissed for a duck early in the day. Despite this, Sai Sudharsan and Devdutt Padikkal managed to stabilize the innings temporarily. However, after Sudharsan's dismissal, the team struggled against New Zealand A's bowlers, particularly Fraser Sheat, who took four wickets. Jurel's performance provided India A with a fighting total of 291 for 7 at the end of the day.
