Dhruv Shorey's Century Strengthens Vidarbha's Position Against Goa
On the third day of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group A match at VCA Jamtha Stadium, Dhruv Shorey scored a century, contributing significantly to Vidarbha's strong position against Goa.
Starting the day just three runs behind, Vidarbha quickly took the lead with Danish Malewar scoring 56 runs. Shorey, who remained composed throughout his innings, reached his century just before lunch, while captain Akshay Wadkar added 63 runs before retiring hurt. Despite a brief rain delay, Vidarbha continued to push their advantage, but several players fell to Goa's Ruthvik Naik.
Wadkar declared the innings after Shorey was dismissed, leaving Goa with a challenging task in the final session. Although Suyash Prabhudessai was dismissed early, Manthan Khutkar and Abhinav Tejrana formed a partnership to help Goa reach 41 runs for one wicket by the end of the day.
