Diamondbacks Edge Red Sox 7-6 in Extra Innings
The Arizona Diamondbacks secured a 7-6 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday, scoring twice in the 10th inning to prevent a three-game sweep.
Nolan Arenado's RBI single brought in Gabriel Moreno, giving the Diamondbacks a 6-5 lead. Following this, Red Sox pitcher Jovani Moran issued three consecutive walks, with the last walk forcing in pinch runner Max Kepler, extending Arizona's lead to 7-5.
In the bottom of the 10th, Ceddanne Rafaela scored for Boston on a groundout by Willson Contreras, but Jonathan Loaisiga closed the game by retiring Caleb Durbin. The Red Sox had previously received a three-run homer from Mickey Gasper, along with solo shots from Nick Sogard and Jarren Duran. Lars Nootbaar contributed a two-run homer for the Diamondbacks, marking his fourth of the season.
