Diamondbacks Place Ketel Marte on Injured List Due to Knee Issue
The Arizona Diamondbacks have placed Ketel Marte on the 10-day injured list due to a left knee issue, as confirmed by general manager Mike Hazen. Marte's condition involves inflammation in his upper hamstring and medial joint of the knee.
Initially, Marte was placed on the restricted list after missing a game against the Boston Red Sox, which the team attributed to a personal matter. Following this, he returned to Phoenix for imaging on his knee, which had already caused him to miss a previous game in Atlanta.
Marte's agent stated that he is managing a personal matter and will undergo an MRI on his knee. Hazen mentioned that the team is committed to supporting Marte during this time. D-Backs president Derrick Hall expressed hope for a resolution and emphasized the importance of Marte's contributions to the team. The Diamondbacks are currently in a competitive position for the Wild Card, trailing the Padres by one game.
