Diamondbacks Release Zack Littell After Brief Tenure

The Arizona Diamondbacks have placed pitcher Zack Littell on release waivers, marking the end of his short stint with the team after only two weeks. If he goes unclaimed, he will become a free agent.

Littell was designated for assignment following three appearances, during which he initially impressed by pitching 4 2/3 scoreless innings in a game against Colorado. However, he struggled in his subsequent outings, allowing 12 runs over 7 1/3 innings and giving up five home runs.

Prior to joining the Diamondbacks, Littell was signed as a long reliever after being released by the Washington Nationals. He has been noted for giving up a high number of home runs, leading the league in that category since 2025. The Nationals are covering most of his $3 million salary, and Littell may now seek minor league opportunities.
