During the press conference, Tsarukyan confronted Danis after he mocked Tsarukyan's teammate, Khamzat Chimaev. Despite the pre-fight chaos, Tsarukyan won the match decisively and refrained from further confrontation after the fight.

UFC president Dana White expressed that he was not surprised by the incident, citing Danis's history of instigating fights. Danis previously received a lifetime ban from the UFC for inciting a brawl at UFC 322.
