Dillon Danis Withdraws from Fight, Brandon Jenkins Steps In Against Mike Perry
Dillon Danis has withdrawn from his scheduled main event against Mike Perry, just two days prior to Duel Arena 1 taking place in Orlando, Florida. UFC veteran Brandon Jenkins has agreed to take Danis' place on short notice, as reported by MMA Fighting.
Perry announced the change during a pre-fight press conference, expressing appreciation for Jenkins' willingness to step in while criticizing Danis for his withdrawal. Jenkins, who recently won a split decision against Chris Avila in May, has experience in various promotions, although he had a challenging stint in the UFC.
No official reason has been provided for Danis' exit from the fight. He has not competed in professional MMA since June 2019, despite participating in an exhibition match last August. The upcoming bout between Perry and Jenkins will still be classified as an MMA fight and will headline the pay-per-view event on Saturday.
